Play Protect and permissions

Google says Play Protect checks apps from Google Play and other sources. It may warn about, disable, remove or block an app it considers harmful, and recommends keeping protection on. See Google’s Android safety guidance.

Review permissions in the app’s listing and on your device. Question requests that appear unrelated to gameplay. If a protection warning appears, stop and verify through the publisher rather than turning off security controls to continue.

MeitY’s published Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2026 states a commencement date of 1 May 2026. A Press Information Bureau backgrounder describes the 2025 Act as prohibiting online money games across chance, skill and mixed formats, and distinguishes these from online social games and esports.
